The PSP Go itself is just a little bit cheaper than the PS3. If you wanted a PSP Go, but you didn't have a PS3, why wouldn't you just put a bit more money to it and get a PS3?
Also, the PSP games look like they'll be really expensive to download. I just went on the Playstation Store on my PSP and Need For Speed Shift is on there. NFSS is more expensive to download than the UMD retail release. In fact, it's more expensive than the PS3 version of Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box that's available for
download on PSN. NFSS is more expensive to download for PSP than some of the games I have pre-ordered including the retail versions of Halo 3 ODST, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3.
WTF are Sony thinking? Do they honestly think people will pay these prices. I suppose, once you buy a PSP Go, you have no choice because it has no UMD slot. I feel sorry for people who'll buy a PSP Go without researching the price of the games on the PSP Store. Can't understand Sony's strategy with th ...
yes i've been thinking about this lately.thanks TC for bringing this upCan't understand Sony's strategy with th ...
Indeed. I'm happy with my own PSP, so I can get the actual UMDs for ObsCure, GT and Tekken 6. Don't forget LBP.
They're basically charging a premium, since 16GB of internal memory wouldn't cost near as much as the UMD drive. They're thinking that people will pay for it because they think it's cool.
Yeah the PSP Go to me seems like a waste of money. Now if they equipped a version of it with a UMD drive and made it back into a 4.3 inch screen form factor I'd be all over that cuz I like the slider design.
Psp Go is going to be lame, the whole pricing thing is making the whole idea even worse. (Still waiting for a psp 2 and a second analog stick.)
Yes I think so too. I hope its fails cuz I hate the idea of download only.
There really is no advantage of owning a PSPgo over 2000/3000. Just why do ppl need blu tooth on a PSP? PPl barely use headsets on PS3. If u buy a game on PSPGo, ur stuck with it. Alot of ppl are not near buy hotspots so does Sony expects ppl to go to starbucks or walk around the neighbor hoping to find a connection? Just how long will these games take to download. I mean i expect MGS PW to be over 1GB.
I don't understand it either, really. It looks cool and for tech geeks, I'm sure it'll be cool to have.
But it's just way too expensive.

And the funny thing about it, is that the people who b**** about it the most are likely going to be the early adopters. Least that's what I think.

Not true about the PS3 Headset users. Every game I play online the majority of rooms have a headset on.
I like the PSP go especially the fact it doesn't have a UMD drive. Digital Distribution is perfect for hand-helds IMO. The thing that kills it though is the $250 price tag. I have no interst in paying that much for a handheld again (after the PSP 1000 models)a nd the fact a PS3, 360 and Wiiare near the same price.

The PSP go should be cheaper then the 3000 for like $129.99 U.S.D.

I agree that digital distribution in perfect for a handheld but have you seen how much the new PSP games cost on the PSP Store? They're more expensive than the RRP of the UMD release. They're more expensive than PS3 and 360 retail games. That's the point I'm trying to make. It's not just the PSP Go that's too expensive, the downloadable games are too.
I wouldn't buy a computer without optical drives, and I'm sure as hell not buying a handheld console that relieson downloads only.In fact, I'm extrememly happy with my PSP 3000. The UMDs are easy to store and easy to carry around when on the road. The big box stays home.
The PSP GO would be a viable contender if Sony were able to set something up that comes close to what Valve has done with Steam.I'm currently in Germany, and the PSN Store is pathetic.

i'm still going strong with my psp 1000 don't plan on getting a new one until it breaks.
