Worth buying a new PSP if you have one o ...

I'm planning on giving my PSP more attention, as well as my Nintendo DSi. My PSP is the original 1001 model (I think that was the first). Battery no longer holds a charge but thinking of replacing it. I'm curious if it is worth it to actually buy a newer model. Has there been any significant changes with the systems and as a result games? Thanks.Worth buying a new PSP if you have one o ...
you can do all sorts of cool things with the older psps. im actually looking for a cheap used 1000 or 2000 in good condition. as long as its in good condition just get it a new battery unless you really need the smaller size or the screen really sucks or something. i think its fine. dont buy things you dont need especially when you already have one that looks slightly different. thats just the company making excuses to take your money with some little additional touches.Worth buying a new PSP if you have one o ...
It is if yours isn't working right and your not using it for homebrew.

Screen looks better to me, the slimmer design is a plus and the shorter load times gives you a bit more gaming time. I got the 3000 model and I just don't see the scanline issue that people made a fuss over when it first came out-- and I tried many different games in my collection. It's just nice to have that fresh console feel and the overall difference between the 1000 and the 3000-- even the 2000, are decent enough to warrant an upgrade. At least I think so anyway. That said though, if you think your 1000 has quite some juice left in it to keep kicking for awhile you may just want to spend that 200 dollars on games. :P
I went from the original to the 2000 when it came out (God of War bundle). The new one is really light compared to the old model. That said, you might want to wait for the reviews on the Go, before making any decisions.

I still have the psp 1001 model from launch and I use it everyday. Still I have already pre-ordered the go and will definitely use it everyday also
If your original PSP still workd then AFCOURSE its not worth it to buy the same device again.Unless your one of those peopel that swaps cellphones every 6 months or has every new iteration of the ipod i guess /facepalm
