Virtua Tennis 3 vs. Smash Court Tennis ...

A question for those of you that have tried the both. I've only tried Smash Court Tennis 3 (which I love!)Which one do you like best? Virtua 3 or Smash 3?Virtua Tennis 3 vs. Smash Court Tennis ...
I prefer virtua tennis because i think the gameplay is smoother and feels better put together imo.Virtua Tennis 3 vs. Smash Court Tennis ...
smASH court
Thx... I've tried both now. And I have to say Smash Court 3 ANY day of the week!*
It's so much more serious and have a great depth to the gameplay. While you're chasing strawberries amongst giant rolling tennisballs in Virtua Tennis 3 you acctually do REAL practise in SCT3.Virtua Tennis is a great game, with good action on the court but Smash is just so much deeper and you can really find your own styyle in it. I'll go with Smash Court tennis 3.
Ihave only played with Virtua Tennis 3, andI think that is a great game, but I read many critique about both the games and I think that Smash Court 3 is at same level of Virtua Tennis 3, but one is an arcade games while the second one is a simulating game, so I think that both the game deserve to be played
Smash Court tennis 3 gameplay make me sick , easily Virtua Tennis 3 is better.
Hunting strawberries made me sick...
Virtua Tennis 3 is arcade like whereas Smash Court is a simulation.I'd have to say Virtua Tennis 3... It looks alot better and is alot more fun, but Smash Court is probably still a good buy.I play alot of tennis for real so just trust my judgement! haha
i agree with you. virtua tennis 3 is good but its arcade-style make it is too repetitive. it is easy and same every time to get a point. and the player likeness is horrible. just look at maria sharapova. she is not even 10 percent close to the real person. i like smash court tennis 3 because it is a simulation game. maybe some guy think that a simulation game is boring but for me, it is an ultimate fun. just like what i got with the gran turismo. the player likeness also so real. look at nadal, federer, sharapova etc. so damn real. the presentation of the game also tv-like. look at how it display the score. the downside of this game is there are some glitches during the gameplay but i can live with that. overall, for me, smash court tennis 3 is better. this not mean virtua tennis 3 is bad, but it is just smash court tennis 3 is better. but it is depand, whether you want an arcade or simulation game.
Smah Court 3. The strawberries in Virtua tennis are just plain horrible.

What's wrong with my PSP?

I'm in-game with my PSP, and then, very disruptively, the Home menu pops out. Well, it's not technically considered the Home menu, but it's the menu that appears when you press Home and it asks if you wanna exit. Yeah, so it pops out in-game without me pressing any button, so I get rid of it by pressing 'X'. Then, it pops out again! It just doesn't wanna leave, it keeps coming back. If you're lucky, you may get more than fifteen minutes of gameplay, but at other times, it just keeps coming out.

Was on Dynasty Warriors when this occured. Does anyone know exactly what happened? Help is much appreciated~

Is it the UMD's problem or the PSP's problem?

Thanks, J.What's wrong with my PSP?

If it happens with multiple games, it might be a problem with the home button. I'm not sure if it's the home button that you'll be able to fix it easily. You may have to send it to Sony. What's wrong with my PSP?
I have the same problem as you are. Sometimes if you turn on your PSP, menu doesn't pop up right ?. Its the problem with your PSP system. I send my PSP to the shop and cost for repair is RM30 = 10USD
Aw, fix it? Alright then, maybe that's what I ought to do. Meanwhile, if it's just a glitch that occurs on this special day, then it's okay.

Thanks (:
Just wanna add something...

I ASSURE you that the problem itself is not related to the HARDWARE of the PSP But certainly it's on the UMD or your Memory card

try refunding or exchanging your UMD or Memory Stick into a new one

^^
Hey, i'd say ask the experts. give sony a call and ask whats wrong. Perhaps this information can help. If you can't easily fix it, they'll probably tell you to send it in. And if it ins't very old, they might do it for free (You'll probably have to show a recipet.)

I had the same problem once. But then it just dissapiered.
This sounds like the home bar ribbon came loose, you may need to replace it. It's an extremely easy and non invasive fix. All you need is a small set of screwdrivers and to take the faceplate off.

You can buy the ribbon on dealextreme.com, it's where I got mine.

• New PSP, Netgear WNR2000 router, WiFi Qu ...

I've Had this router for some time with no problems, I works great with my computer, PS3 and Wii. I purchased my daughter a PSP and am trying to set up a WiFi connection. My router has 3 broadcast options.1) 54 Mbps for b/g networks2) 145 Mbps for 11b/11g/11n networks . Doesnt the PSP have 11b WiFi (my laptop has an N card, PS3 and Wii both use G I think)3) 300 Mbps for n networksI had my router set at 145 Mbps and scanned for networks with the PSP. All I got was error no connection point found but everything else in the house works fine. After messing with it for over an hour I changed my router to 54 Mbps and the PSP found the network. Logged on, did a system update.Heres the problem, what do I need to do to make the PSP work at 145 Mbps. I don't want to run my router at 54 Mbps, it slows down my laptop and probably isn't as good for my PS3.New PSP, Netgear WNR2000 router, WiFi Qu ...
Anyone?New PSP, Netgear WNR2000 router, WiFi Qu ...
Uhhh what firmware do you have?
The router has up to date firmware and when the PSP connected at 54 Mbps I updated it the the latest firmware.
I thought 8.211b networks only supported up to 54mbps, so you might need a new router for it..

Dissidia data install?

How much would I benefit if I choose to install 590~ MB instead of the 300 one? I only have a 2gb one and I got FF7 installed so I'm pretty much out of space...Anyone got know something about this?! :D

Dissidia data install?
The load times with the largest install are so short I don't even notice, so even the other installs must help a lot. Sorry I don't have a direct comparison, but I'd just do the middle one and save a little extra space on your card.Dissidia data install?
go for the 300 one. I tried both, and with the 300 one u'll have to wait an extra maybe 1.5 seconds. Do that and save some space
I went with the highest one and believe me you dont even notice that its loading
Chose the 300 one and it seems to be perfectly fine.

Heh...(Mini rant: Who the hell came up with idea to make Zidane sound like some kind of cartooned Disney animal?)
Went with the small one as well and load times are barely there. Save the space.
I went for the highest one and I don't regret it one bit.
The highest one is the best bet especially if you got a large memory stick its really worth it. I got an 8GB stick so I didn't have to worry about space at all
I wish more games had data installs..

Where did it go?

It says my user capacity on my memory stick is 1921 MB. The free space is 1920 MB but I don't have anything saved. Where did that 1 MB go?Where did it go?
It's my understanding that the measurement of capacity for all removable media and hard drives aren't the same when in a device. something to do with the hard drive specs counting 1GB as 1000MB and a device reading 1GB as 1024MB. It's not a big deal.Someone please correct me if i'm wrong or explain this further =PWhere did it go?
^^ Yeah, I think he is right.

Well I am taking the plunge.

I traded in my DSlite and all 18games to EB, and I am going to get the Go, though the PSP3000 is tempting. I was just not using my DS anymore, it's just a little to kiddy. Anyone else go through the same thing with there DS, it's like my Wii, no use anymore. I am excited for a PSP, can not wait to finally play Wipeout on a portable. I will miss my Mario, Zelda and Metroid. But, Sony has a lot more franchises that I am interested in.Well I am taking the plunge.
Ah, you should've sold the games, EB probably ripped you off. I can see how you thought the DS games are kiddy; I see many of them on store shelves. Anyways you bought the PSP at a great time, lots of new games are coming out soon. :D What PSP games did you get?Well I am taking the plunge.
Couldn't you just save for the PSP instead? 18 games is a respectable collection and a lot to give up.
No games yet, getting to PSPgo. Can not buy games for it. Well I do have FF%26 on my PS3 and C-SOTN, so I guess those two.I was actually trying to sell the games here for 2 months, no buyers, lots of people were really trying to undercut me. Plus EB was have a great deal, I ended up getting 90$ more then the last guy offered me on Kijiji.Yes, it was a nice collection, everything was mint. But whats the point of keeping it if I do not enjoy it, never play it and dont really need to keep for anything?
Are you looking for any game suggestions or are you just informing us that you sold your DS?
Well I know I am getting GT for it and Wipeout and Motorstorm. What about RPG's, what would you get?
you should get the 3000 instead cause the go is just overpriced. Those psp bundles only cost 200 and they include everything you need to get started.
Well I know I am getting GT for it and Wipeout and Motorstorm. What about RPG's, what would you get?
Are you looking for JRPG's or WRPG's. The PSP has some good JRPG's but when it comes to WRPG's it falls short.
Dude, just get a psp 3000. The Go doesnt have the UMD slot. You'll have to download every game. Not for me. I think you should get the 3000. In addition, the 3000 is available right now, versus waiting a while for the STOP.
great to have u. and despite what some of those whiners say I think you should get a psp go cuz you look like youre going to buy a lot of games and why should you have to carry a bunch of umds

Psp Go! Are you getting one?

Just curious to see what the concesus was... Personally, I think Ill pre-order mine :)Psp Go! Are you getting one?
I'm sticking with my current PSP. nothing can replace it, although the PSP GO looks nice lolPsp Go! Are you getting one?
I am getting one, no need to preorder though.
I have already preordered. Traded my 1000 in last october to get money towards a PS3, and havn't looked back. Now with alot of cool PSP games on the horizen I thought I'd jump back in with the go, mostly for the portability aspect, I always hated carrying a brick around in my pocket.
It's overpriced, smaller screen and don't like the position of the controls.I'm sticking with my japanese import psp 1000 and eventually buy a psp 3000.
No im not but it looks really cool it kinda looks like a phone!
I totally agree with you man PSP GO! is basically a psp with new control position and size nothing else
Yep. I'm willing to pay the 250 for a smaller more convinient PSP. The size alone justifies the difference in price. I guess if I was on a budget, I could see how certain people wouldnt dish it out. But obviously I dont have that problem.I have 2 Preorderd...a white and a black.
Nope. I don't need 2 PSP's, one to play my already bought UMDs and one to play downloaded games. I also heard that it was awkward to hold as the controls are closer together.
Heck yes. I love the design, size, and download emphasis. I have a white one pre-ordered, by I really can't decide between white or black.I heard it controls like a dream compared to the other PSP's because it's closer together like a Dualshock. It looked awkward to me, but I guess holding it feels much different. I found my fingers cramping easily on the other PSP models, the analog-stick location is absolutely dreadful.
I thought the Go might go nice with my DS Lite, but the 3000 will make my wallet happier and my search for games easier.
Yup i'll be getting it on October 1st. I love the new design and the new features and I'm getting tired of my DS.
I think I'll get if my Fat one ever Dies on me... I would not mind the 16GB of memory, but I do like having the hard copy of the games...
No way. I love my first-gen old school PSP :D
ill stick with the old one, it has bigger screen lol
I am getting one, no need to preorder though.
wat he said
i kind of want to get it, I don't have my psp anymore. That price is the only thing I don't like. But they kind of make up for by giving GT to us for free with a registration before the 10th of Oct.
already pre-ordered the white one from my local gamestop. And first game to purchase will be GT
already pre-ordered the white one from my local gamestop. And first game to purchase will be GT
it's free if you register you GO
Only in the UK though. In the US we just get a crappy Rock Band Unplugged demo. The only reason it's better than the demo already on the store is that you can buy DLC for it. Which is retarded.

monster hunter or crisis core

which one is better monster hunter or crisis core l want your opinionmonster hunter or crisis core
Crisis Core but Monster Hunter is also great.Crisis Core actually has story, cutscenes, etc. Monster Hunter is great if you love monster grinding on the go, but I suggest Crisis Core since the story is great and you'll really connect with the characters. Monster Hunter is fun but is more of a brainless romp. After you're done playing you'll ask, ''What the hell did I just play?''monster hunter or crisis core
I have 40 hours into Crisis Core, really enjoyed it and did everything there was to do more or less. I'm about 90 hours into Monster Hunter and I am still really only at the tip of the iceberg as far as content available to me, it's also great and very addictive.Best bang for your buck is monster hunter, but it is difficult, if you want something that is easier go with crisis core, if you want a lasting challenge go with monster hunter.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: more depth, more content, and more skill base. No story and pretty much a VERY HARDgame.Crisis Core FF: Has a story, easy gameplay
If you have friends with MHFU, get that. It will easily outlast most games if you're into it.
I have to vote for crisis core, mainly because I haven't played monster hunter. However what I can say is Crisis core is the only game to almost make me cry, because I was that connected with the characters. It easily is one of the best stories in a game by far. So if u are looking for great gameplay with an amazing story go for Crisis Core
In my opinion Monster Hunter United is the better title. I've had more fun with it than Crisis Core.
crisis core too dull it may seem fun but its just a spin off and storybefore final fantasy vii ithink theres really no point unless you are reallyinto final fantasy vii, get monster hunter this game will keep you going takes a while to get the rare items to make agood armor
I'd say both are must-have PSP games.
But if you have to pick one, I'd say go for Crisis Core if you're into more story and character driven games, or Munster Hunter if you're into challenging games that can last for hundreds of hours.

If you've played and enjoyed FFVII, then Crisis Core is a great supplement to that. If you have a friend or two that play Monster Hunter, you'll have a blast going on hunting quests together with them.
i 'd say Crisis Core. It's not only the story , but it has much replay value too. But if you have friends who also own Monster Hunter , tht'a what you should buy...the ad-hoc is great...
FF Crisis core: If you want to play alone.

Monster Hunter: If your friends have monster hunter, you should play this game.
i dont like story driven games but i dont like difficult games cos i aint a hardcore gamer
CRISIS CORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well if you like final fantasy 7 then yes get crisis core. or really ,just make you on desicon
Dissidia Final Fantasy of course ! :)
FFVII: Crisis Core All The way man! Monster Hunter was a good game too but you know, i liked crisis core better.
i vote monster hunter
Imo crisis core is better. But they are both great games.
I have Finlay Fantasy Crissie Core. and its extremely satisfying and enjoying it. (DARN THIS BOSS BATTLE.. grumble). But im embarrassed to say that i don't own monster hunter and i really want. so lets just say i wish i had an opinion on this.
Depends on what kind of games you like really. It's pretty hard to compare 2 different Genre of games, but as far as hours played and time spent, I spent much much more time on Monster Hunter than Crisis Core. Both Are really good games but it's really up to you.
I prefer FFVIICC, then again ive played through FFVII multiple times and enjoyed FFVIICC's continuation/extension of the story. In total i think ive got about 100 hrs on it. i played through by myself on normal mode, then had new game + on hard mode with a walkthrough to try get 100%. Then after not playing it for a while i started it again on normal just cause i like the story.

only played about 10hrs of monster hunter... i guess it really is a love it or hate it kind of game.

No one knows yet but its likely a possiblity.

You can buy ff7 on PSN on your PS3 and then transfer it to your PSP, so it could be possible.
What do you mean your PSP can't read the games? The UMD format has not changed at all. Also all models of the PSP can download games. So yeah, absolutely no actual need to buy a new PSP.

PS Store copy of fvii

My friend bought and downloaded the PSN copy of FVii on his ps3, it works there, but when he tries copying it to his psp it doesnt work, quoting ''Copyright Protection Information is Invalid'' Any ideas on how we can get it to work?

BEAR IN MIND, I'm talking about the LEGAL copy!! he purchased and DLed it through the ps3 store, and both psp and ps3 are up to date. At one point my friend did have trouple with his network information, but its been cleared up. Sadly the house networking uses WPA2, so the psp isnt able to get online- thats the only issue i can see. PS Store copy of fvii
try connecting usb to a computer and dling it with media go?

psn details and everything should still be the same (ie it should show that he's already purchased it and can DL it again)PS Store copy of fvii
Try signing in to PSN directly on the PSP.
Try signing in to PSN directly on the PSP.
he says he cant get online with the psp...
Is his PSP registered (activated) to the account? Before you can share the game (on up to 5 psp's) he has to sign in on his PS3, connect the PSP via the usb cable to the PS3 and Activate it from the menu. After that, he should be able to hit triangle on the FFVII game icon and choose copy.

oh ya i just noticed the title on one of the screenshots! Whew! thats a relief. If a psp game looked that bad, I would definitely question the developers and what they are doing these days.
Haha yeah no kiddin. It looks ALOT better than that.
I saw it for sale at Gamestop today and the game looks really good.Get it here.
Staff of Kings is awesome. Got it today at GameStop and I'm really impressed with the quality. Great graphics, fun gameplay and actually good controls. It feels like they actually tried to make a good game.
Staff of Kings is awesome. Got it today at GameStop and I'm really impressed with the quality. Great graphics, fun gameplay and actually good controls. It feels like they actually tried to make a good game.
i got this game today. its amazing! the graphics are decent.. good lighting. the missions are short. the loading time isnt a lot. the boss fights are creative where its not all about brawling. there are puzzles you have to figure out too. the hand to hand combat works good and isnt sluggish. u can pick up objects from the environment and use as weapon. the gun and whip are fun. there are a LOT of cut scenes. i don't know if thats a bad thing or not. the levels have replay value because there are ''skill'' objectives that you can complete just like resistance retribution skill objectives, and then there is the main mission and then there are artifacts that you can find that are hidden. getting artifacts and completing these skill tasks gives you credit that you can use upgrade your characters health, dmg, etc.. and there is a lot of upgrades to do. the game moves at a fast pace. i really liked it so far. the action in this game actually makes you feel like indy where you can grab someone and throw them out of a window, bash bottles on their head, hit them with chair .. u know the dirty style. i just hope there is a move where u can kick someone down below. that would make it classic. i think its a pretty good game for the psp.
yeah, graphics look bad
yeah, graphics look bad
buddy, no offense.. but when you download stuff for free all the time, nothing meets your expectations. you get it for free, give a one liner of ''it sucks'' and move on.

Great game, I'm really enjoying it.
same. it doesn't get boring. and the replay value for each mission is a lot. i keep playing each stage over and over to get all the objectives so i can buy upgrades for ol' indy.
i think this game was way under rated before release compared to resistance retribution that had its own page during release. the production value is a lot. the game isn't short by any means either. when i played x-men wolverines for the psp, i could not believe how bad that game was for the psp. compared to that.. this game is superb in every way.
This game has been much-maligned mainly because it came out only in 3 versions for 4 lower-spec platforms.6 weeks ago I bought a black component-lead PSP3000 only to play Lemmings (extra levels as PS2 only on PS2 and PSP) and to play Indy-Staff.It took me five weeks slowly to complete Indy on PSP, and it plays-looks good although it has 11 annoying wobble-over-beams bits.Occasionally as suggested above I replay a level on different difficulty setting to get bonus-bits/things to upgrade powers/'buy' all of nice pics.
i got the a week ago the game is amazing, and i in my opinion the game looks great specially the graphics and controls ! i磘磗 worths getting it!it磗 really cool:D:):P
the extras , upgrades,cheats , pics are also awesome!:D:):P
Since theres already a therad on the new indian game I'll ask my qustion here..Since theres no 360 or PS3 versions of staff of kings, is it possible that the PSP version has better graphics then the PS2 and Wii versions?I have both a PS2 and a PSP, but since I only buy games for my 360 and/or PSP, I'll prob buy the PSP version..
As I already have Indy-Atlantis on Amiga which plays on my Amigas and PCs via excellent Cloanto Amiga Forever, I am glad that for PSP with component lead/good memory card I forked out ?80 for PSP 3000-Lemmings and Indy Staff (goodish but sometimes annoying game with crap killing-room bonus rooms).
I heard the game is really good? I have not actually played it, but I heard it was better than Force Unleashed. I do have Force Unleashed, but it was just ok. You can see my profile for the review of it. Does not seem that many PSP gamers have this Indiana Jones game.

yes the ps3 got slimmer, redesigned, and reduced in price but that's not the case with the psp because the psp go is a separate device intended for digital downloads only. they will still be makin umd games

I use Any Video Convert, works nice. Also I use YouTube and a website call Vixy.net. To get my full movies I use LimeWire, I know I'm bad.

If IBUY something and I accidently delete it, can I re download it for free?! Or do I have to pay to RE-DOWNLOAD it?! Gosh it's a simple ''Yes, you can re-download it for free'' or ''No, you can't re-download it for free; you can re-buy it and download it''. :
|Sooooorrrry... Do you really need to be so harsh? :roll:Yes you can redownload for free. :
|Sorry, this is like the 3rd time I posted this same message and everybody just doesn't seem to get it.
its yours, newb. you bought it. you can dwnload it to your account whenever. now get your mom's credit card.
Well, it isnt that way with movies you dwnld from the Playstation Store. so, it isnt necessarily a newb question. I can see how it might be confusing to know for sure if you are new to this stuff or young.

Soul Calibur gfx are INSANE

is it me or this games looks better than ff dissidia and equals with some ps2 games?Soul Calibur gfx are INSANE
I watched a gameplay video and it looks pretty sick. And yes, the graphics look better than any PSP game I've seen. I might get it, but I'm going to wait until GameSpot reviews it, because I usually agree with what they say in their reviews :DSoul Calibur gfx are INSANE
eh the game is ok. i am not too happy with some of the arena's where u can fall off or get pushed off and you lose. also i dont like not being able to jump up like normal fighting games have. graphics look same as tekken: dr. i mean they can only do so much and thats the best it can get on the psp.

Are you sure you're playing the same game? Seriously, this blows Tekken out of the water.
haha, could be. i don't think its that much difference in graphics. i mean psp system has its limitations and and tekken dr was pushing its limits. how much more difference can you get with what the system can handle. you might be basing it on the shiny new weapons and the new moves. the arena looks bigger though and more detailed.
Looks pretty similar to Tekken to me. Good no doubt, but nothing we haven't already seen.Developers have been pushing the PSP's limits for quite some time now..
I have look at a video of SoulCalibur it is is really brilliant.

I shall say that Dissidia is almost the same thing except with a technique more developed.

To answer you, I think that it is just a choice personal. :)
Yeah, I just saw a gameplay video. Looks pretty powerful for the PSP.
I thought games like GoW : CoO and FF7: CC had already surpassed ps2 in graphics , then again the smaller screen size might be fooling me :P On thread yeah SC graphics are damn good :D

Hell no  I find Tekken way better.

The fighting style is like almost the same as Tekken, although Tekken's controlling is better, imo. Graphics are great, of course. Cant compare a 2009 game to 2005-06(?) game, really.

Fighting is similar, but seriously, graphically SoulCalibur BC is superior.
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was a good game and Soul Caliber: Broken destiny is too. The graphics of SC are better than Tekkens graphic but Tekkens story mode and controls are better than SC. And if u compare SC to Dissidia, Dissidia is better because of the gameplay and graphics. Well, SC's graphics are sort of better than dissidia but overall i like dissidia better.
kratos looks descentt
I agree. It seems that SC: BD has a slightly better look than T: DR. They delivered a good transition of a console game to the portable system. It is slightly lacking some elements to make it complete though. With this in mind, my expectations for T6 on the PSP is very high and I hope they can deliver.
Indeed they are excellent. The lack of certain modes though doesn't make it as good.
I don't really know how the hell the PSP could handle such graphics! Soul Calibur could be the pioneer for the next gen games for the PSP!
Sure looks nice judging from screenshots. Is there going to be a demo?
my biggest problem with this game is the lack of an arcade mode with a final boss fight. how can a fighting game not have an arcade mode. these guys should have known better than that. the gauntlet mode is a joke as well. other than that its a good game if you can find friends to play against. but single player gets boring after some time.

Like I said, graphics can change in 3-4 years, Tekken is one of the earliest PSP games. Since a new one is coming out, im going to say its going to be better then SC.

It depends where you buy your games. If you buy games in USA they can only use AMerican save files not eurepeon.
Read the post above me and read my post.

Make sure you put the Save data in the right place. go to the PSP folder on the root of your memory stick then to the SAVEDATA folder. Put it in there, then run your UMD and press on load and you should see it.

American PSP in Europe

Hello,

I know a similar question has been asked here before, but mine's a little different.

I'm in Europe now, and I have an American PSP. I have an adapter, but it's not working (not sure why not). I understand the wattage differences and such, and realize that the charger is multi-region.

My only problem is, my PSP battery is flat dead, and the adapter is failing. So, could I use my friend's PSP charger, which is European, on my American PSP?

Thanks in advance.American PSP in Europe

Playing connected to your tv

I am about to receive a PSP 3000 for my byrthday and I was wondering what happened when you connect th PSP to the TV; does the PSP still display the game, or the screen turns off, using the console just as a controller? I wanted to know this so I can save the life of the battery (which lasts 5-6 hours from what I know).Playing connected to your tv
You need to buy seperate video-out cables for a hefty price, and it doesn't look good since the resolution is made for the tiny PSP screen. The video is really small, just a small box in the middle of huge black borders, no options for full-screen.Playing connected to your tv

I've never used my PSP on a TV. But I can only assume that if it does extend your battery life, it will be negligible. Plus, like the other guy said, the resolution is going to be pretty poor. But, go ahead and try it out anyways. You can do an experiment to determine if running your PSP through a TV extends your battery. Remember though, that different games use your battery quicker than others.
I just tried my AV cables out myself, it does indeed turn off the screen and audio from the PSP and it all goes to the TV. So thats gotta be saving the battery life. AV cables look like crap on a HDTV ofcourse but component cables they should make the picture look great.

I was thinking of rechargin. :PI've used the component cables, it still doesn't look that great on an HDTV. The actual game screen is really windowboxed but the XMB is full-screen. If it was made any larger it would likely look awful, since it was made for a 4.3 inch screen.

As i know, we just can change players manually. If you wanna play Ronaldo on Madrid and many other players who have changes their club, wait FIFA 10. It will realese at October.Fifa 09 PSP players still in the same cl ...
ah man but once my players changed automatically? How did that happen?
I have FIFA 07 and I have changed the rosters to represent the current squads. All you have to do is go to ''transfers'' and make the appropriate switches there. I dont think the changes will take affect in multiplayer, but they will in any other mode. You can actually make an Allstar Team by doing this. Its kinda cool i guess. I have Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Messi, C. Ronaldo, Lampard, Viera, Clichy, D. Alves, S. Ramos, Terry, and Casillas.
Oh yea, in regards to ''your squads changing automatically'', maybe there is a feature when you go online that allows you to update the rosters automatically. I know other games have that feature, like MLB the Show. If there is such a feature though, you probably wont be able to get the current squads until FIFA 10 comes out.
I bet you dont have arshavin for arsenal?
lol, i dont. it sucks.
Thats what im trying to get at because i want Zukhiov for chealsea and i can't get him. :(
Yea man, i feel you. Another thing that sucks about having an older version of FIFA is the player stats. Some of the younger player's stats do appropriately reflect their real life stats. I'm still debating whether or not to get FIFA 10 for the PSP or 360. I'm kinda leaning towards 360 though.

I watched the whole thing it was pretty cool. I think the reason they might have ripped it off is because he said you could play games on the PSP-GO with your PS3 controller and I don't think that has been confirmed yet. Who knows though.
Yeah I saw half of the PSP GO Unboxing video it was posted this morning, I have no idea why they ripped it off, seems very suspect indeed.
:( i missed it!

is it on youtube?
yeah it is - just found it! Searched for ''Gamespot psp go''
just watched the video on youtube and it looks good, pretty much what i expected also. Im still getting it launch day
I saw it on Youtube, it looks great. Nearly persuaded me to get the black version since, the matte part looks nice and I like how the silver rims contrast with the black while the white doesn't.
I think I'm going to stay with my PSP 1000, I do like the new size and built-in Wi-Fi features though.
im also definately loving the idea that I can stop and save the state my game is in and watch a movie or something. There have been so many times that Im in class playing a game when im in the middle of something that I cant save. When I get up to go to my car or to another class ive always wished I could save my gamestate then go into my music or video. Then when I get to my destination, i could just restart the state of my game instantly.I wish they did try the bluetooth aspect so I could see if it plays music and streams video audio too.
The whole pause anywhere feature is awesome and should have been in the whole time, and its nice that the video showed it in action. Im personally quite excited about the go, but what everyone seems to think of as detractorssuch as smaller screen, no umd drive, sliding ect. I find are actually features I've been looking for, mostly related to the PSP (IMHO) needing to become more portable.
Looks great, cant wait to get mine!
Yah looks pretty cool, but I'm going to wait a little before I buy one, see how it fares (mainly want to see if they have some sort of UMD trade in program).

I only got it yesterday and am genuinely surprised at how good it is. It's brimming with content with amazing graphics and sound. Simply put, it's not Ehgeiz.
Yeah I also love it big time, i'm quite addicted to it already. Though I dont think it is the best game out so far on the PSP, GoW: CoO was better in my opinion.
There is no online play... its wifi with a nearby PSP only.
I like Final Fantasy (I've played them all apart from XI) but I still don't know if that game is worth my money. The gameplay looks extremely muddy. Can someone who isn't a huge FF fan tell me how good this game really is?
A top notch PSP game but not the best in my opinion that title goes to Crisis Core and GOW-COO. Those games were far ahead of any other PSP game I have played.

It's up to the developer to add online play which they didn't. Sony is giving online play to PSP games that lack it through the PS3, so they're doing people a favor (unless you don't have a PS3 :P).annoyed with dissidia online.

well, it says you can go online with it. and when you do the lobbys are empty? and i read you need some thing on the ps3 to play? gay
Nothing ever said it had online. Ad hoc = local area network. Infrastructure = online. Xlink Kai and PS3 ad hoc party are 2 other options. But something tells me a Global electronics company can't have a sexual preference..

well i WAS going to get a GO...

But it seems to me like sony arnt taking the whole digital transfer seriously, making games available on PSNi have googled it and it seems PSN is free basically because the devs pay a percentage of the space they use or something like that.but dissidia not on psn? thats one of the main reasons i want one.ive had a psp before, i dont really wanna buy one again, there noisy and it really bugs me, was looking forward to the go, i dont care about a smaller screen...id prefer it!anyway...thanks :)well i WAS going to get a GO...
They have ZERO reason to release these games on PSN right now. If you currently have a UMD PSP, go buy it at the store...if you dont, and are going to get a GO, wait until Oct 1st and I can guarantee you that Dissidia, Gran turismo etc will ALL be on the PSN. Its a month away...be patient.well i WAS going to get a GO...
Ya they said at launch they did not say they would be available before launch.
ahhh okies fair enough, im very impatient though :( lol
Yeah, I'm awaiting the mass addition of the entire library by October 1st. Could happen. An immediate price drop wouldn't hurt either.
i would think that from this point on Sony would start posting games on PSN when they release. i'd really like to have Disgaea 2 sans-UMD. i'm still waiting to see their solution to getting all of my 30-something UMDs ''digitalized'' before i make my final decision on buying a Go.
I wonder though, what will Sony do ten years from now, when the PSP is discontinued, and everyone who has bought games from the PS Store, with no way to store them other than their PSP Go!'s memory, people with large collections will lose all their games? Or maybe Sony will offer a means for us to store them on other storage media?
You will be able to store all your digital DL's on your PC's and sync them to your PSP GO ala Ipod/Itunes. That way if you ever run out of memory, you can pick and choose what you want on your PSP GO at any given time. And you will also be able to re-download the game up to 5 times if you ever lose it somehow. But yes, the game file WILL be able to get stored on your computer!

I have the same gripe... I went out and bought a 4GB memory stick to buy an dplay new reelased games until the GO comes out... the fact that new releases arn;t automatically going up on PSN like Sony SAID they would is pis-ing me off.
I'm surprised there isn't anything new on the PSN network for PSP yet. I thought there would be much more games available in the run-up to the release of the Go. I hope they are waiting for the Go release to unleash all the new games.
There will be more PSP download games available in the future you should know better than that.....

To be fair they only promised all new releases after October 1st.
the only worry I have about the pspgo is that, as far as I know, Sony hasn't said anything definite about what people are going to do with all their games that are UMD's.Do people have to REbuy the games they already bought once?
i would think that from this point on Sony would start posting games on PSN when they release. i'd really like to have Disgaea 2 sans-UMD. i'm still waiting to see their solution to getting all of my 30-something UMDs ''digitalized'' before i make my final decision on buying a Go.
Same here. minus the 30 UMD's I only have about 5, but they are games that I love. I don' t want to buy a Go if I'm going to have to repurchase them. if they can find a simple solution to this I am 100% in
It sounds like you'll likely need a ps3 to transfer the games over, but they might allow some other form to install on a regular PSP first..
I think this whole idea is a huge step backwards for the consumer. If it's true that the only games you can play on the PSP Go must be downloaded, than Sony has really done it. Sony is eliminating the sencondary, used game market, and assuring that the only way to have any games to play is to buy them direct from Sony at full price. A big no thank you from me.
I was going to get a GO but the normal psp UMD noise doesnt bother me and at somewhere $90 more it just doesnt seem worth it when i can buy the games for theat price

I currently don't have a PSP, but I decided to pre-order a Go so I can get in on all the great games. I have a quick question though.. As of now the PSN is lacking quite heavily on content and games and I was wondering since the PSP franchise is trying to flip to an all digital platform if you guys think they will begin to release lots of new things on October 1st within PSN??? If not, perhaps I made a boo-boo on purchasing the Go instead of the 3000??? Major PSN alternation on the release of ...
psp go simply isnt worth it. theres no worthwhile games on it for now. sure some ok games not great. why buy a god portable system thats underpowered and only has one analog stick for the price of a ps3? fool. now if it had some really good games then youd be alright but just dont show anyone the games you play on your fancy piece of crap. itll be really emberassing.

and lets not forget you arent getting the umd with your purchase or case so i recommend you buy the UMD to psp go reader so you can at least have a hard copy of what you buy so if you ever change psn or something you donr lose all your things you bought. and when you dump the psp go for a newer portable you wont have anything to sell cause its all digital on your psn. they screwed you.Major PSN alternation on the release of ...

you coulda bought a iphone its more powerful and is a phone and is cheaper. :3
It seems like that's what they're going for. I can't imagine going into the PSstore and seeing 50+ PSP games on the Latest downloads page on the week the go is released. That would be insane. I always figured they'd release maybe 10-15 games per week from now until the library is fully supported for download.
I'm getting a PSP Go myself.I do believe we'll start to see an acceleration of bringing PSP game to the PSN more and more. we may see a bit like ''and today were offering 20 new PSP games on the PSN today'' at the Tokyo Game Show.but i fully expect that Sony to bring more of the back catalog to the PSN. They'd be stupid not to.
just to give the op what he wanted. they said there will be more psp games by the end of 2009 than ever before

i just want to remind you that you can get a psp go disc reader and put the game files on your psp go directly. i would recommend never using psn to buy games whenever possible and actually buying the game disc and putting it on the psp go yourself. this allows you to sell the games later and not have to bind them to your psn account. dont let them screw you unless its much cheaper to get on psn.
[This message was deleted at the request of the original poster]
still think they'll continue to add more back catalog games to the PSN. i'm talking the big hitters, like Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, God of War, Resistance, Locoroco, Patapon. games that make the PSP stand out. it's pure profit for Sony and the publisher, only thing holding it back is going through the paperwork.
I'm sure the download floodgates will release soon, or all at once on October 1st. Hey, the release is a Thursday! Just noticed that... :wink:John Koller said they would be releasing nearly the entire UMD library on PSN, and I'm sure SCE is crafty enough to release it on the day it'll be most desired.

Since that method is illegal, and I highly doubt it'll work on the Go.

i forgot where i saw it but i clearly remember seeing a umd reader with a wire to connect into the psp go. idk if im imagining things but i think they said it was for 50 dollars. idk if it was in those youtube links i posted i didnt watch through it all. all i know is i remember seeing it and loling thinking to myself they are going to try and eventually get rid of hard copies to scam people like they are doing with pc games and serials bound to an account. those games better be half price or something when up for download. and what way is illegal? installing a game to the psp is illegal? backing up games is illegal or pirating lol?

Don't you think there'd be actual talk about such a device and likely less hate from the Internet community?Half price for download? Why? You're getting the same exact product but in a more convenient package. They're going to be the same price, I believe some dollars cheaper. If you're doing something with a product that was not intended or supported, it's copyright infringement. Unauthorized reproduction and distribution, commonly referred to as piracy. You're taking a UMD and ripping a duplicate file from it. The UMD still works, and you have another copy of the game. Of course that's illegal. No, installing a game to the PSP is not illegal, what you're talking about is ripping files from a copyright product.
i cant find the psp go umd reader. maybe it was all in my head. thats quite surprising. this is the first time i can recall imagining something of this sort lol.oh and lolIs it legal to sell backup copies of computer software (in online auctions or on website)? Is it legal to buy and use a backup copy of software I already own?
No. The Copyright Act does not permit anyone to sell backup copies to third parties separately from the original copy of the software. If you lawfully own a computer program, you may sell or transfer that lawful copy together with a lawfully made backup copy of the software, but you may not sell the backup copy alone.http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-digital.htmlso you see by them making the software in digital format only bound to an account it makes it pretty much impossible to resell or trade in your software after you are done with it. this is why i think the price should be reduced for it. you also dont get the umd manual or case which is always worth something more so than the server sending you the actual software over the internet.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up863eQKGUI

But with the lack of a case, paper manual and the fact that you're not buying it through a seperate retailer to Sony should make it somewhat cheaper.
I'm getting the PSPgo and I can't wait, the PSN is pretty bad now but Sony is going to have alot of the back catalogue of psp games availabe at launch and they will be making most of the PS1 game available,I'm looking forward the most to filling my system up with PS1 classics, I never had that system
Well, if the PSone catalog thing is true I am already sold on that. Just Xenogears, FF8, Parasite Eve, ect, ect.... is enough in my mind to have a Portable PSone on top on Dissidia Crisis Core and Monster Rancher.. I hope that is a real deal!!!

• Good Co-op games on PSP ? Need help =)

Hi !

Me and my friend are very interested in co-op games on PSP. We already played to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and we really enjoyed it. Recently we saw an article about '' Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light ''. We are now interested in this game but our budget is limited and we want to make the right choice, that's why we need help ! So we were wondering if you could inform us about this type of games

Co-op Games ( RPG, adventure games, actions, all types of games if there is a co-op mode )

-

-

Multiplayers Fighting Games ( We loved Bleach 6, Fate/Unlimited Code)

If you know a website who could answer those questions or if you know something yourself, let us know ! There's a lot of japanese or english-translated games that we don't know, and we will be glad to know them !

Thanks :)

You could try Metal Slug Anthology. Metal Slug 1,2,3,X,4,5 and 6 are all playable with two people co-op. The downside? It gets pretty laggy pretty easily!
We already played to Metal Slug, and we really enjoyed those games too, but now we want to change a little bit, to play more ''serious'' games, like Blade Dancer for example ;)

Alright, sorry I couldn't help! That's the only co-op PSP game I own and have played. :P
GRAW2 and Killzone Liberation both have solid Co op. Killzone a bit more so.Both are shooters..

skype friend or foe

What do you think about skype? I think is worhless.skype friend or foe
Enough people must use it for it to be useful. I don't use Skype, so I don't care.skype friend or foe
Skype is one of the most useful and fansatic programs available today. It works really well, and if you are constaning traveling (personally China and Japan for me) it really is a life saver
Already have a cell phone and dont really care for skype. I would like to see the video chat and see how well it works
Skype is not used like a cell phone. It is mainly an apparatus for calling internationally. I would not expect anyone to try to use it like a normal phone...

I need help with games...

I just bought a Psp and 4 gig memory stick from my friend for $70. 2 questions.1: Did I get a good deal?2: I wish kindaI hadn't because from what I can tell there is hardly any games worth buying for it.Are ther any good games other than Crisis Core and Dissida?I need help with games...
There are PLENTY of High Quality games.Read this stickied thread:http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26840229%26tag=topics;titleI need help with games...
what he^^^ said, and the $70 is a great deal.
Once you investigate it a little bit, you'll find that there are PLENTY of games that are just as ''good'' or better than those FF titles. And $70 with a 4G stick is a kill deal.
Dude, there are seriously alot of great games. Dont you dare forget God of War: Chains of Olympus xD. Also try out Silent Hill: Origins, Daxter, GTA Vice City Stories / Liberty City Stories. And there are alot more. Just scope around here on Gamespot. And yes, I think you've made quite a good deal.
Not enough good games? If you would've said this 2 years ago, i would say that you are right. But good games are falling from the sky right now.

You sound like an RPG fan, so yes you'll be right at home with the PSP. Tons of great games.

$70 is a great deal. I bought my PSP for $100 and back when 4GB sticks were announced I spent $65 on one! :D PSP does have a lot of great games, some of my favorites include: FlatOut Head On, Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow, GTA Vice City Stories, OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast, Medal of Honor Heroes, Metal Slug Anthology, Pursuit Force Extreme justice and Splinter Cell Essentials, to name a few.

In the future there is LittleBigPlanet, Assassin's Creed (Not sure of the title) and Motorstorm Arctic Edge. :D
$70 for secondhand PSP is cheap i think..

Battery Dead??????

k this is my situation. I got a PSP from my uncle yesterday. now my uncle knows a guy who gets them really cheap. It did not come with a charger. He said that he played it and killed the battery. Today i bought a charger and still won't turn on :| Is my battery dead or is it my system.

P.S it's a Mad Catz USB charger.
Battery Dead??????
Probaably the charger? USB charger? I've never heard of those. Try buying a new battery and charger.Battery Dead??????
the charger is fine its a MADCATZ product.the cashier at EB said he uses it for his PSP
Remove your battery from your PSP and then replace it, then try the USB charger again.
First, does the PSP power on with out it's battery but the charger pluged in? If it does it may just be the battery. But if it still doesn't power on, and only the green light powers on with the battery in, it may just be a bricked PSP(not fixable). I'd contact SCEA just in case, 1-800-345-7669... Best of luck!

• Variation differences

Okay, I've waited long enough to get a psp and play dissidia. They have the GS bundle, which is a great deal for including the memory stick, 3000 system, dissidia game, and advent children movie. The only problem with that is that I'm really OCD when it comes to cases and manuals. From every buyer of the dissidia bundle, I hear that the manual for dissidia is there, but has no case for either the game or movie. That is a dealbreaker for me.

Now the main question I want to ask is that I plan on buying a used psp, 1 gb memory stick, and a new copy of dissidia, and plan on spending the same if not less than the regular bundle. But I see that they have the regular, slim, and psp 3000 out, and each getting more expensive with each variation. Is there any big differences between the three, or am I good with just the original?Variation differences
I see how not having the case is a disappointing, but I'd rather have a new console than a game without it's case %26 manual. The first one is the clunky one, it's rather heavy and has these odd ''love-handles.'' I believe this is the only version with the analog-stick cover removable. The 2000 (Or Slim %26 Lite) is really slimmed down, and has very slight cosmetic changes. It has composite video-output, double the RAM (32 to 64), and caches UMD data to decrease load times. The 3000 has some cosmetic changes, has a microphone, and a much more high-quality screen. The screen has a higher contrast ratio, wider color gamut, and it just looks more rich. Keep in mind though that while it did eliminate the ''ghosting'' problem that the other models had, in some 2D games ''scanlines'' appear. I personally say it's a worthwhile sacrafice. I personally think this is currently the best PSP.There is also a new model coming out in October that I think you may want to look into, the PSP Go. A completely asthetically redesigned PSP that slides and eliminates the UMD slot. 16GB of onboard memory, and is completely digital in buying games.Variation differences
Thanks, KurodaMurasakiK. I will probably take a hit, and go with the new bundle. I forgot all about cnet, and went there to get there take. Looks like the 3000 is the ticket. But I do not want a PSP Go. That idea is good, but for current psp owners, we are getting ripped off if we upgrade. Okay we have a new system minus the umd slot. How are current PSP owners going to play their existing umd games? repurchasing them? No thank you, Sony.

FF speculation

How long do you suspect it will be before FFVIII makes its way onto the NA PSN?FF speculation
I would hope that it would be put on PSn when the PSP Go is released, but I doubt it. I'm not sure if it's been given an ESRB rating, which usually means it's coming soon.I was really impatient so I bought a copy and am playing in on the PS3.FF speculation
I think FFVIII is too complex for the PSP's hardware because the existing method of using a direct rip of your own game causes freezing when using certian abilities. Meaning they will have to modify the game slightly to get it to work on the PSP.

I want FF IX for psp
Direct rips always cause problems. You have to work around different versions of different programs and all that madness. If the actual companies create the ports, there's never a problem. I think it's just a matter of SE deciding when they'd like to release the game. And boy, do they have a lot of games we'd like to see on the PSP. FF8, FF9, Chrono Cross....Vagrant Story........

Heck, I can't wait for the entire Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII(wow that's a complicated name). I swear though, if they don't start putting more quality RPGs on the NA store, I'll just buy a PS1.
I want FF IX for psp
Yes. Give us what we want Sony. Instead of crap like Cool Boarders, Mobile Light Force, and the four, FOUR, Spec Ops games, give us Final Fantasy VIII/IX, Xenogears, and Suikoden II.

Why can't Sony just release an update for the emulator (aka firmware update) to fix this? I'm having a similar problem with Wild Arms.
What problems are you experiencing with Wild Arms? When I get my PSP this holiday season, that's the first game I want to download. I'm very much looking forward to it and hope it works.
I've play Wild Arms and never had a problem.

Random freezing during battles (mostly bosses).

Back on topic, I'd love to see Final Fantasy IX, since I never played it yet.
I would imagine that VIII and IX are on their way within the next year or so. Expect Chrono Cross to come sometime soon too. I do believe they'll want to space everything out but I imagine with each major release in the Final Fantasy series to the PS3, SquareEnix will be releasing older titles on PSN.Remeber, it's not just up to Sony on when these games come out. SquareEnix has the rights to them as well.

Hopefully, the release of the Go will popularize PSN more and Square Enix will realize that they can make a lot of money in PSOne Classics.
How long have they been posting PS1 classic onto the PSN? I could understand the current small number if it started up just about a year ago, but if it's been going since the PSP's launch, then why the heck aren't there way more games to select from?

Willing to bet we'll get the next 2 RE's before that comes out. Which wouldn't be terrible, but another FF sure would be great.

Are there any good 2D platformers?

I want a good 2D game. I played prinny and I did't really like it, just because of the no in air control. I just got The Demon Blade on the Wii a few days ago and it's my new favorite Wii game. Is there anything like that on PSP?Are there any good 2D platformers?
LittleBigPlanet should be right up your alley then. Coming out soon. Are there any good 2D platformers?
Well come October 1-7 you'll be able to download Prinny: Can I really be the Hero? for between $4.99- $12.99

It's a great platformer even if the controls can be a little wonky at times.

Check out either of the megaman titles avalible on the system. i would reccomend Megaman powered up more than Maverick hunter X due to a lack of content in the latter, but both are well worth the $15 you can usualy find them for nowadays
A pretty good game on psp i would say is probably Patapon 2 it was suprisingly amazing
